Developmental Technician - Bsdc (Evergreen) (Open)

Close to heart close to home; that is Beatrice State Developmental Center (BSDC); providing care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Beatrice State Developmental Center is looking for dedicated Teammates who want to "Help People Live Better Lives" as a Developmental Technician. Under general supervision, Developmental Technicians :

• Provide care for individuals with intellectual and / or developmental disabilities in a facility setting.
• Train skills, abilities and behaviors according to individuals' written plans.
• Work collaboratively with teammates to ensure individuals' needs are met.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

This position requires proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the language effectively.

As a Developmental Technician you will :

Wages :

Developmental Technician I (Part Time / On-Call) - $15.769 / hour

Developmental Technician II (Full Time) - $19.208 / hour, plus an additional $3 / hour for every hour worked & shift differential!

Shift differential ranges from $1.00 to $1.75 depending on shift / day of the week.

Shift and days off will be determined at time of offer!

Requirements / Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications : Development Technician I / II : Must be at least 18 years of age, and possess a valid driver's license.

Positions classified to this class may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases and blood and airborne pathogens such as TB, HIV and Hepatitis.

Incumbents are required to have the ability to lift, bend, push and / or pull 50 pounds on a continuous basis to assist clients in meeting their needs and maintaining safety within the home.

Knowledge of : general developmental care skills; preparing and maintaining individual's records and charts; Nebraska Medication Aide registration requirements. Skill in : active listening, and communicating clearly with others.

Ability to : develop effective working relationships with staff and individuals; provide quality daily care to individuals; complete courses and competency evaluations; document treatment / training plans; count accurately and record numerical and alphabetical data; observe, recognize, report on physical status; demonstrate proper lifting, including a buddy lift, within a weight range of 50 to 200 lbs. to heights of 36 inches; lift, bend, push and / or pull 50 pounds on a continuous basis; provide quality day care to individuals; implement written treatment / training plans with supporting written record keeping; administer medications; problem solve; work regularly scheduled shifts with predictable attendance; work overtime up to and including entire shifts.
