The schedule is flexible, with options for 7 AM - 3 PM, 8 AM - 4 PM, or 8 AM - 5 PM. This position involves responsibilities associated with quality assurance and staff education, including infection prevention. The nurse will implement policies and procedures related to quality assurance using guidelines such as nursing home regulations and facility practices. This includes gathering and analyzing data through audits, interviews, and other activities to monitor compliance across all disciplines, departments, and services. The nurse will review monthly reports and develop performance improvement plans where needed. Preparation and distribution of reports, statistical analyses, and data summaries for facility staff will be a key responsibility. Periodic reports summarizing compliance status with established goals will also be part of the role. The nurse will assist supervisors and managers in developing corrective action plans as necessary. Monitoring and reporting on plans for correcting deficiencies identified by surveying agencies is required. Ensuring compliance with necessary regulations and facility practices is a critical duty. Investigating incidents of non-compliance and collaborating in investigations of allegations of abuse, neglect, and mistreatment of residents are expected tasks. Preparation for surveys will be coordinated by the Quality Assurance Nurse. The nurse will chair and coordinate internal Quality Assurance Committee meetings and Infection Control Committee meetings. Identifying training needs and developing educational programs related to quality assurance and compliance is essential. Utilizing assessments to evaluate training quality and ensuring adequate staff training is a priority. Records must be maintained to document training and compliance with regulations. The nurse will provide information for regulatory surveyors in coordination with facility administration. Daily rounds for infection control surveillance will ensure compliance with individual care plans. Staying informed about current information and attending educational opportunities relevant to the role is required. Knowledge in principles of management and administration, quality assurance methods, and nursing home regulations is essential.
