Job Summary
Quality Technicians are responsible for managing and enforcing quality programs & procedures, and company established policies regarding the powder manufacturing process and storage. Quality control technicians review, verify and test products across the three stages of production (incoming, in-process, and final) to ensure quality and food safety levels are met.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Compliance and Regulatory :
- Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as GPN standards, and maintain documentation to support quality control activities.
- Environmental Control Program ECA – perform swabbing for the environmental corrective actions as directed by the compliance team.
- Process Improvement :
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and implement process improvements to reduce defects, increase efficiency, and enhance overall product quality.
- Communication : Communicate effectively with production teams, quality assurance supervisor, managers, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and provide quality feedback.
- Calibration and Maintenance : Calibrate and maintain quality control equipment, instruments, and tools to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Internal Auditing :
- Auditing the assigned area, and communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency. Document finding within the corrective action records.
- Inspection and Verification
- Perform verification activities across all the production stages such as weighing, dumping, blending and packaging to detect defects, irregularities, and non-conformities.
- Perform verification and direct observation of food safety cheeks such as screens, magnets and x-ray’s to ensure the products are free of foreign materials.
- Perform sensory evaluations on in-process and finished product to determine out of specification batches.
- Complete finish product final inspection and release to distribution.
- Perform cleaning verifications using ATP swabs and visual inspections to approve manufacturing rooms prior to production.
- Records verification to ensure all production and quality documents are accurately completed in real-time during manufacturing process.
- Data Recording and Analysis :
- Data entry in Logs pertaining to Quality Metrics.
- Perform SAP / LIMS transactions for releases, holds, reworks and High Jump where applicable, and enter results into a computerized system, track and report results (GP / SAP / MS Office programs).
- Training : Complete training for new hire employees. Keep the training up to date based on GPN training matrix.

Decision Making / Problem Solving
Interpret decision charts for potential non-conformances.Evaluate cleaning practices related to facility and / or equipment and decide if additional cleaning is needed to meet the documented requirements.Review products to ensure compliance to the specification.Education
Minimum- High School or GED CertificationsExperience
At least 3 or more years’ experienceFood or pharmaceutical quality experience preferredOther Experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work accurately.Familiarity with quality control procedures, regulations, and industry standards (e.g.,FDA, USDA, OSHA).Basic math and computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality control software (e.g., QMS, LIMS).Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.Certification in quality control or a related field (e.g., HACCP / PCQI ) may be advantageous but is not required.Physical Demands
