Position Summary
Credit One Bank is looking for an Assistant Vice President for Cloud Engineering. This position will be hands-on, providing direction and oversight to direct reports and other stakeholders. The focus of this position and span of responsibility will be to extend full Infrastructure as Code automation, Cloud Engineering, Cloud Operations, and FinOps. This individual will lead teams that deliver projects related to Cloud Engineering. Responsibilities include all areas of project management including project schedule, cost, resource utilization, deliverable quality, and risk / issue resolution.
Essential Job Functions :
- Lead a team of Cloud Engineers and Operators in completing business initiatives and projects while meeting milestones and deadlines.
- Deal with many aspects of project management using agile methodologies and maintain a high standard of quality control.
- Responsible for delivering and maintaining modern IaC for our cloud environments.
- Report on project status to stakeholders and provide visibility of identified issues or blockers, determining root causes, and providing short-term and long-term solutions.
- Expand our FinOps practice to match our growing environment.
- Build knowledge management practices and collect interdependency information for internal and external applications.
- Research, recommend, and deploy new tools and technologies beneficial to increase productivity and reduce technical debt.
- Review and approve change control requests making sure that the team complies with the change control process.
- Collaborate with various teams and vendors on numerous projects and initiatives.
- Oversee training and development of direct reports.
- Include on-call responsibilities and working maintenance windows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements :
BS Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 8+ years as a Cloud Engineer or similar technical discipline.2+ years of leadership experience in information technologyExtensive experience with scripting languages along with configuration management, automation, and orchestration tools such as Jenkins or other similar platforms.Experience in designing, building, securing, and managing cloud environments.Demonstrated experience with the majority of the following technologies or equivalent : AWS, GCP, GitLab, Terraform.Experience using Jira and knowledge of SCRUM and Kanban.Able to utilize version control tools like Git along with a strong understanding of merging and branching code.Preferred :
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Dynatrace, Solarwinds, or similar.Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Must possess excellent listening and communication skills.Version 1.0 – revised 5.24.18
