Network Engineer

Piper Companies is hiring a Network Engineer for a world wide technology company located in Raleigh, NC. The Network Engineer will need a deep foundation in enterprise networking technologies and a passion for building secure, scalable infrastructure. The Network Engineer will need to sit on site in Raleigh, NC (Open to remote for the right candidate working in EST hours) and is a long term contract opportunity. Due to the nature of the work the Network Engineer will need to be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer:

• Design, implement, and maintain robust enterprise network solutions across LAN/WAN environments
• Troubleshoot and optimize routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP) and SD-WAN deployments
• Configure and manage Cisco Nexus switching environments and other enterprise-grade hardware
• Collaborate with cloud infrastructure and security teams to ensure secure network posture
• Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform for scalable deployments

Requirements of the Network Engineer:

• Strong experience with routing and switching protocols: BGP, EIGRP, SD-WAN
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus platforms and enterprise-grade network devices
• Familiarity with network segmentation, firewalls, and VPN architectures
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tooling for network provisioning
• Background in network security, vulnerability management, or compliance frameworks
• Cloud networking knowledge (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Compensation of the Network Engineer:

• $.-$. per hour
