Data Center Manager

As a Data Center Manager in Amazon, you will manage the world's largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure. You will innovate to solve complex problems and drive Operations Excellence in all areas of your role. You will be a proven manager with experience managing teams of high performers. You will have the ability to refine and develop processes to optimize operational excellence in every area of your role. You will drive performance levels to achieve the pace we build and operate our Data Centers at. You will have previous experience in Data Centers, either building or managing (or both) along with exposure to developing great relationships with both internal teams and external vendors.

Key job responsibilities include managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring the highest levels of performance. You will also maintain existing Data Centers, help build and bring online new Data Centers, and constantly improve all our processes and procedures. You will assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, liaise with internal teams and management groups, ensure we adhere to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centers, and create and maintain metrics on all aspects of our Data Centers and utilize those metrics to drive positive changes. You will assist in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, and capacity management.

About the team : AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and we're looking for talented people who want to help. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Basic Qualifications : A Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of professional or military experience in an IT related field. 2+ years of experience managing people in a technical environment in an on-call rotations, and providing after-hours support in an environment that operates 24 / 7. 2+ years of experience with Networking, or Computer hardware.

Preferred Qualifications : 2+ years of previous Data Center Management experience. Effective communication and decision making skills. Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience. Formal project management certifications (Prince2, PMP, AGILE). Experience or Knowledge of AWS products : EC2, EBS, S3 and infrastructure and system redundancy (Power feeds, ATS, Server Hardware, RAID, Network Connectivity).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $216,800 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
