The City of Hampton Public Works Wastewater Operations is looking for an Equipment Operator II to operate specialized, complex heavy-duty equipment in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the City's public works infrastructure. • High school diploma or successful completion of GED.
• One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience in equipment operation or closely related experience.
• This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy.
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton's criteria.
• Must possess a State of Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or a valid driver's license and obtain a State of Virginia CDL Class B within 180 days of employment.
• Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
