About the Role:
The Estimator plays a critical role in the automotive repair process by accurately assessing vehicle damage and determining the cost and scope of repairs. This position requires a thorough understanding of auto body components, repair techniques, and industry-standard estimating software to produce detailed and precise repair estimates. The Estimator collaborates closely with customers, insurance adjusters, and repair technicians to ensure transparent communication and efficient workflow. By providing accurate estimates, the Estimator helps facilitate timely approvals and supports the shop’s profitability and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, this role ensures that repair projects are well-planned, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be Tesla Certified
- Must be Rivian Certified
- Must be I-CAR Gold
- Proven experience in auto body estimating or a related automotive repair field.
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair techniques, materials, and vehicle construction.
- Familiarity with auto body estimating software such as CCC ONE, Mitchell, etc..
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers, insurance representatives, and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- I-CAR Platinum Estimator Preferred
- Polestar and/or Vinfast estimating knowledge
- Experience working directly with insurance companies and understanding of insurance claim processes.
- Advanced knowledge of vehicle electronics and structural repair techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Prior experience in a high-volume collision repair environment.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect damaged vehicles to evaluate the extent of repairs needed and identify all affected components.
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-standard software and pricing guides, along with ordering necessary parts.
- Communicate with customers to explain repair processes, costs, and timelines clearly and professionally.
- Coordinate with insurance companies and adjusters to obtain approvals and resolve any discrepancies in estimates.
- Collaborate with repair technicians to verify repair feasibility and update estimates as necessary throughout the repair process.
- Work a minimum of 8 hours per scheduled work day in accordance with company policies/business hours.
