IT Quality Assurance Analyst - Senior

DESCRIPTION

Note : The work location for this role is Pune, and candidates are required to work from the Pune office in a hybrid model.

Develops functional and technical test methodologies, plans, scenarios and cases for testing of applications and systems at various stages of development and implementation; coordinates and executes testing to ensure quality solutions and efficient system performance; reports testing results and tracks resolution of issues identified during testing.

Key Responsibilities :

Creates and executes various testing documentation (including plans, conditions, and scripts) based on business and technical requirements. Provides feedback of testing results, ensuring defects are logged, tracked, resolved, re-tested, closed, and reviewed by the appropriate stakeholders prior to the scheduled release. Ensures applications and / or solutions adhere to high quality standards. Analyzes information systems and identifies and documents any quality related issues. Works with BAs to develop customer relationships as a liaison between customer and solutions delivery teams ensuring applications meet business needs. Applies various testing methodologies within various development methodologies (waterfall, agile & iterative). Works closely to understand and align with Change & Release management policies in support of their testing needs prior to deployment to Production. Applies testing tools and processes in support of the Cummins SDLC model. Carries out routine and semi-routine tasks of large projects as well as complex tasks of small projects. May coach and mentor less experienced quality analysts Maintain strong relationships to deliver business value using relevant Business Relationship Management practices.

Release and Deployment Management - Controls the plan, schedule and deployment of releases using the required processes and tools in order to deliver functionality to the business and ensure the integrity of the system as well formally handing it over to service operations.

Solution Assessment and Validation - Assesses the proposed solution using the requirements traceability through the life cycle of the requirements to determine if they deliver the desired business outcome.

Solution Process Verification - Verifies the Function's defined best practices, including the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards, tools and metrics, were adhered to by using the Operation Readiness Review (ORR) process to eliminate production risks.

Solution Validation Testing - Validates a configuration item change or solution using the Function's defined best practices, including the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards, tools and metrics, to ensure that it works as designed and meets customer requirements.

Education, Licenses, Certifications :

College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience :

Intermediate level of relevant work experience required. 3-5 years of experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Test Strategy & Coverage

Design and execute sprint-based test plans using exploratory and risk-based approaches.

Ensure comprehensive validation through a mix of automated and manual testing.

Maintain traceability between user stories and test cases to meet acceptance criteria.

Issue Resolution & Deployment Quality

Log and prioritize defects using Agile tools (, Jira, Azure DevOps) for fast resolution.

Validate release candidates through regression and smoke testing before deployment.

Monitor post-deployment metrics and conduct root cause analysis to improve future sprints.

Automation & Stakeholder Engagement

Develop and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI / CD pipelines.

Provide clear QA reports and engage stakeholders during sprint reviews and demos.

Continuously refine QA processes based on feedback to improve efficiency and impact.

Professional Experience

5+ years in the manufacturing industry , specializing in IT systems quality assurance and process reliability .

Proven track record in leading QA initiatives for MES platforms , enterprise applications , and integration projects .

Technical Proficiency

Platforms : DELMIA Apriso , .NET , MS SQL , Oracle scripting

QA Tools : Tosca, Rational Functional Tester (RFT) , defect tracking systems , QA documentation standards

Automation & Testing : Test automation , UAT , integration testing , CI / CD pipelines

Programming : Python (AI / ML focus), with exposure to R , Java , C++

Infrastructure : Familiarity with Azure , AWS , Docker , Kubernetes

Certifications & Achievements (Nice to have)

Certified ISTQB Test Manager (or ISTQB Advanced Level, if applicable)

Certified SAFe Agilist

Led automation of regression testing , reducing manual effort by 40% and improving release cycle time.
