Job Description

Job Title : Operating Room Registered Nurse

Profession : RN

Shift : Variable shifts Monday - Friday

Hours per Shift : 8, 10 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Active RN License

Certifications : ACLS, BLS

Must-Have :

• Circulating experience in a fast-paced environment
• Scrubbing experience is preferred

Description :

Unit has 3 OR suites, with 2 OR rooms open 5 days per week and 3 OR rooms available 3 days per month.

Typical number of cases per day is between 20 and 25.

Common cases include general surgery, ENT, hand surgery, podiatry, total joints, urology, gynecology, plastics, and facial plastics.

Scheduling is managed by the department manager and is released one month in advance.

There are no call requirements for weeknights, weekends, or holidays.

May be asked to float to the main hospital or surgery center if census is low.

Scrub color and dress code are provided during unit-specific orientation.

The hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.

Charting system used is Cerner.
