Shipping / Receiving Clerk

Position Purpose

: Responsible for carrying out the logistics of receiving, processing, storing and sending inventory according to purchase orders and shipping schedules. Duties include loading orders onto trucks and shipping containers, organizing incoming stock, and putting the appropriate labels on incoming and outgoing parcels.

Principle Accountabilities

• Collecting product from the storage/hold areas and safely transporting materials to the shipping bay.
• Receiving and documenting product for delivery or return.
• Keeping an inventory of all products entering or exiting the warehouse.
• Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents.
• Identifying any missing, lost, or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor.
• Ensuring that all the product is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.
• Managing all product with appropriate care.
• Scanning labels to ensure products are shipped to the right destination.
• Follow space requirements and position of shipments in bobtails and 53' trucks based on the layout/position of the shipment provided.
• Prepares shipping and receiving documents accompanying shipments including packing lists, bills of lading, and all other required paperwork.
• Maintains internal record keeping system.
• Transports products to appropriate storage areas using mobile equipment provided.
• Performs all work in a safety-first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills.
• Related tasks as requested by supervisor.

Essential Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2+ Years of Shipping & Warehouse Experience
• Intermediate computer skills, and English written communication skills necessary.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours at a time required
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a continuous basis
• Ability to consistently lift arms and work within full range of arm motion.
