Summary

As an Emergency Medical Paramedic, you will function as a frontline emergency medical professional, providing immediate care to victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses, such as cardiac arrests or strokes. You will deliver pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support until care is transferred to an accepting medical facility.

Job Duties

• Represent the ambulance service at public service functions, expositions, and other events, and provide ambulance standby services as needed.
• Document thorough assessments and treatments in patient care software.
• Provide medical, traumatic, and therapeutic services to patients in psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crises.
• Serve as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced medical equipment such as bag valve masks, external defibrillators, and electrocardiograms.
• Assess injuries or illnesses to determine priority medical procedures such as stabilization, immobilization, and safe transport of victims.
• Respond to dispatch instructions and drive emergency vehicles to specified locations safely.
• Administer medications via injection, intravenous procedures, or oral methods under a physician's directive.
• Communicate with medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities to obtain treatment instructions.
• Clean and sanitize the ambulance after transporting or treating patients with infectious diseases and report such cases to relevant authorities.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances. Frequent standing / walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
