Communications Leader
At Red Antler, we build brand worlds for companies that are changing how the world works. Our clients span a wide range of categories, representing some of the most exciting companies in the startup space and beyond.
We are searching for an engaging and thoughtful communications leader to help us tell our story through key business, design, and venture press; social media; events; and emerging opportunities to enhance our visibility and foster our community. This role will also advise our clients on PR strategy, and assist with onboarding external PR partners to client projects.
Contribute to how we shape the Red Antler narrative in the venture capital, startup / entrepreneur, CMO, and creative communities
Vet incoming press opportunities, make strategic recommendations, and secure and prepare for top-tier media coverage
Develop a plan for speaking engagements that includes vetting incoming opportunities as well as proactive outreach
Create a strong thought leadership program for Red Antler's leadership and help develop presentation materials, bylined articles, and speaking proposals-Promote our client work in key media outlets, as well as managing case studies and promotion across Red Antler's owned channels
Manage Red Antler's content calendar, including newsletter, presence on all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin), and future initiatives
Contribute to and help manage internal communications
Contribute to building Red Antler's community and network through ongoing event strategy, virtual and in-person
Track industry trends and news, monitoring for mentions of our competitors, clients, and Red Antler itself
Advise clients on the media landscape, PR tactics, and timing, and connect them with suitable agency partners for launch
Effectively onboard external PR partners to client projects, liaising between client team and our internal team
Coordinate with client's PR partners for work and launch promotion strategies
Help develop design-driven narrative for pitching
6+ years of corporate public relations experience at an agency or start-up environment
Experience conceiving and pitching targeted stories to business, technology, and design media with a proven track record of well-crafted media relations results
Successful track record of securing feature placements
Strong relationships with tech, design, and business media outlets
Deep understanding of and / or passion for startup, VC, PR, and creative communities
Must have quick judgment and an excellent understanding of the current state of mind of the press
Experience in project management, social media management, and community management
Knowledgeable, passionate storyteller who loves to create and define authentic messages for diverse audiences
