Cabinkeeper Position

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a Cabinkeeper for the Postcard Cabins in Columbus, IN. Starting pay is $15 per hour. The job purpose is to clean and prepare cabins and public areas by meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues. Responsibilities include :

• Thorough cleaning of assigned cabins (and cabin patios), including wiping and cleaning windows, doors, walls, closets, floors, bathrooms, appliances, and fixtures cabins, public areas, and hallways, often using ladders or stools to clean hard to reach areas.
• Washing shower walls and tub, cleaning toilets, and stall walls if applicable, wiping exposed pipes, cleaning mirrors, sinks, and walls to have clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms.
• Replacing linen, toiletries, and collateral in each cabin. Washing all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas. Vacuuming all carpeted areas.
• Inspecting all room equipment (TV, lights / lamps, faucets, radios) to ensure proper working order and immediately reporting all room status and room maintenance deficiencies, in writing, to direct supervisor for prompt repair / resolution.
• Maintaining a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Performing other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications and requirements include :

Material / equipment used includes basic residential cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaning equipment. Cleaning cart. Ladder / stepping stool. Commercial washers, dryers, and pressers. Exposure to hazardous chemicals on a continual basis. Prolonged strenuous physical activity in an indoor climate-controlled environment. Excessive heat and humidity in laundry.

Other requirements include being passionate about people and service, strong communication skills, reading and writing abilities, problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities, and having the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and / or holidays.
