Job Title : Part-Time Activity Assistant (Varying Hours, Includes Weekends)

Location : The Views of Marion

Department : Recreation / Activities

Reports To : Activity Director

Job Type : Part-Time

General Responsibilities :

To assist in leading, planning, and modifying both small and large group activities while demonstrating enthusiasm, integrity, patience, and strong character. This role focuses on creating meaningful moments and engaging experiences for our tenants. Participation and interaction should be documented daily.

Essential Duties :

Plan, prepare, and implement scheduled activities.

Become familiar with each tenant on an individual basis to better serve their interests and needs.

Lead group and one-on-one activities with energy and patience.

Modify activities as needed to accommodate individual cognitive or physical abilities.

Ensure activity areas are clean, safe, and organized daily.

Document tenant participation in daily Activity Progress Notes.

Assist the Recreational Director with organizing supplies and maintaining inventory.

Support community outings and events.

Report any tenant concerns or behavioral changes to the Recreational Director promptly.

Participate as a team member : willingness to help with tasks such as cleaning, serving, and answering phones.

Communicate effectively with family members and collaborate with other department staff.

Qualifications :

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience working with individuals with dementia preferred.

Previous activity or senior care experience is a plus, but not required.

Compassionate, creative, and adaptable personality.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Comfortable walking short and long distances throughout the facility.

Ability to physically assist tenants in and out of chairs safely.

Schedule :

Part-time hours vary and include weekends. Flexibility is essential.
