Direct Hire

Hybrid 3 days in / 2 days home

Salary : $75,000-90,000 / yr

Must have : Associates degree

5+ years of legal billing

Elite 3E software (could consider Aderant experience)

Summary :

The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the client billing process from draft to final invoice, ensuring accuracy, compliance with client-specific guidelines, and timely submission. This role collaborates closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and the Finance team to resolve billing issues, maintain unbilled and accounts receivable balances, and support overall financial operations.

Key Responsibilities :

Process client invoices in various formats, including through e-billing platforms (e.g., E-Hub) or directly on client portals.

Ensure all billing complies with client-specific guidelines and firm policies.

Prepare, review, and edit pre-bills and final invoices for attorney review and approval.

Research and resolve billing discrepancies, including time and cost entries.

Monitor and manage attorney portfolios of unbilled time and costs; provide regular status updates.

Review finalized bills for accuracy and completeness before distribution.

Ensure all billing is completed by monthly firm deadlines.

Coordinate write-offs, write-downs, and other billing adjustments with proper documentation.

Maintain accurate reports of unbilled and A / R balances; support inventory tracking.

Respond to internal and external billing inquiries and provide historical billing / payment data as needed.

Support Finance-related tasks, including trust account documentation and other ad hoc reporting.
