Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology

Location : Illinois

Duration : 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)

Schedule : Day Shift | 36–40 Hours per Week

On-Call Rotation : 2 Nights per Week & 6 Weekends per 13-Week Contract (including Holidays)

Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in Interventional Radiology (IR) and Interventional Neurology to join our hospital-based clinical team in Illinois.

This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing interventional procedures in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring critical care experience, advanced clinical knowledge, and strong decision-making skills to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.

Key Responsibilities :

Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care during interventional procedures.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including radiologists and technologists, to coordinate and deliver safe, high-quality care.

Administer medications and monitor patients under moderate sedation during procedures.

Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique, safety, and infection control standards.

Provide patient and family education before and after procedures, ensuring understanding of care plans and discharge instructions.

Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the EMR.

Participate in on-call rotation —including weeknights, weekends, and holidays —to support urgent and emergent cases.

Support departmental performance improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements :

Active Illinois RN License – Required

BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) – Required

NIHSS Certification – Required (can be obtained during orientation)

Minimum 3 years of total RN experience – Required

At least 1 year of critical care (ICU) experience – Required

Cardiovascular Interventional experience – Required

Interventional Neurology experience – Strongly Preferred

Ability to interpret and respond to EKG rhythms (must pass EKG test during orientation)

Excellent communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills
