Purpose of Job
Analyst I -The purpose of this position is to perform entry-level crime and intelligence analysis to support law enforcement operations the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) and investigative units. The Criminal Intelligence Analyst I collects organizes and evaluates criminal data; produces basic tactical reports maps and bulletins; and monitors real-time incidents under close supervision. This position focuses on developing foundational analytical skills and supporting more complex projects led by senior analysts and investigators. Work is performed with guidance from higher-level analysts and the Criminal Intelligence Analyst Supervisor to ensure accuracy and adherence to established methodologies.
Analyst II - The purpose of this position is to perform intermediate-level crime and intelligence analysis to support the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) investigative units and strategic initiatives within the agency. The Criminal Intelligence Analyst II independently collects evaluates and interprets criminal data from multiple sources; develops comprehensive tactical and strategic intelligence products; and identifies crime trends series and emerging threats. This position frequently collaborates with detectives patrol officers and external partners serving as a primary point of contact for intelligence sharing. Analyst II staff also mentor and provide guidance to Analyst I personnel and may act as shift lead in the RTCC. Work is performed with limited supervision requiring independent judgment in prioritizing tasks and recommending resource deployments
Job Related Requirements
Work Schedule : Monday through Friday / 40 hours per week / may require nights and weekends

Must work cooperatively with others.
When requirements include vehicle operation responsible for the safety readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACCs safe driving policy.
Minimum Training & Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Analyst I - Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Criminology Public Administration Data Analytics or a closely related field with one year of experience in data analysis research methods statistics or a related analytical field.
Must obtain the Crime Intelligence Analysis Certification from the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council or an equivalent certification from nationally recognized organizations within 18 months.
Analyst II -
Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Criminology Public Administration Data Analytics or a closely related field with four years of experience in crime analysis intelligence analysis data analytics statistics or a related field required; or any equivalent combination of education training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this position.
Must have at least one year of experience in law enforcement or public safety environment.
Must possess the Crime Intelligence Analysis Certification from the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council or an equivalent certification from nationally recognized organization.
Analyst I and II-
Must possess a valid drivers license.
Must be able to pass a background investigation and maintain clearance to access law enforcement databases (e.g. NCIC / GCIC).

Knowledge of crime analysis concepts investigative processes and law enforcement operations.
Skill in analytical and critical thinking with attention to detail.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite database software and introductory-level crime analysis platform.
Analyst II -
Independently collect analyze and interpret criminal data to identify patterns series and emerging threats.
Knowledge of advanced crime analysis techniques criminal investigative processes and law enforcement operations.
Skill in advanced use of GIS mapping and crime analysis software.
Ability to lead lower-level analysts and oversee daily operations in the RTCC in the absence of higher-level staff.

TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including a computer printer scanner calculator copier fax and telephone. LANGUAGE ABILITY : Requires ability to read a variety of informational documentation directions instructions methods and procedures. Requires the ability to prepare letters reports forms spreadsheets etc. using prescribed formats and conforming to all rules of punctuation grammar diction and style. Requires the ability to speak to individuals and / or groups of people with poise voice control and confidence.
INTELLIGENCE : Requires the ability to learn and understand relatively complex principles and techniques; to acquire and be able to expound on knowledge of topics related to primary occupation; and to make independent judgment in the absence of management.
VERBAL APTITUDE : Requires the ability to record and deliver information to explain procedures and to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of administrative technical or professional languages including terminology related to law enforcement.
NUMERICAL APTITUDE : Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas; add and subtract totals; multiply and divide; determine percentages; perform calculations involving variables.
FORM / SPATIAL APTITUDE : Requires the ability to inspect items for proper length width and shape visually with a variety of machinery and equipment including a computer printer scanner calculator copier fax and telephone.
MOTOR COORDINATION : Requires the ability to coordinate hands fingers and eyes accurately in using office equipment. Requires the ability to use the keyboard lift bend push and pull objects or materials using body parts as the position necessitates.
MANUAL DEXTERITY : Requires the ability to handle a variety of items such as automated office equipment secretarial supplies and computer supplies. Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities. Must have minimal levels of eye / hand / foot coordination
PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION : Requires the ability to talk and / or hear : (Talking - expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words). (Hearing - perceiving nature of sounds by ear).
