JOB SUMMARY

Assists in providing and delivering specific ancillary services to residents as they pertain to transportation of resident to and from certain prescribed destinations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Receives and follows schedules / instructions from the RCFE Health Service Assistant / Coordinator and RCFE Health Service Manager.
• Performs routine emergency driving assignments to medical clinics and hospitals; performs various driving errands including recreation trips as needed.
• Assist residents with or without wheelchairs in and out of vehicles.
• Follows through on completion of assignments overcoming obstacles and increasing efforts where necessary.
• When off campus maintain contact with Masonic Homes via cell phone as needed and calls 911 in case of a medical emergency.
• Performs basic safety inspections prior to any assigned trip. Records mileage and gas before and after trip.
• Attends to mechanical / body damage by reporting it immediately to Director of Environmental Services.
• Reports and responds to all emergencies as needed. Learns and understands Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Works independently and within a team on special and non-recurring and ongoing projects.
• Make practical decisions and recommendations reflecting logical analysis of problems and / or issues.
• Conveys information in a concise accurate and understandable manner. Displays attentiveness tact and diplomacy in responding to others.
• Receives and initiates calls.
• Attendance of mandatory department meetings and in-service education.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Assist residents with needs as appropriate.
• Additional duties as assigned.
