Job Summary :
The Senior Programmer Analyst provides ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancement for critical infectious disease and public health applications, including MDSS, MSSS, DQT to HESB migration, and LHD Connect. This role is integral to supporting MDHHS automated processes , ensuring data integrity , maintaining SEM / SUITE compliance , and securing mission-critical systems. As a senior-level resource, this position leads complex initiatives across the full software development life cycle (SDLC) and provides application oversight to supporting analysts. Key Responsibilities :
- Provide maintenance and production support for MDSS, MSSS, DQT to HESB migration, LHD Connect , and other infectious disease applications.
- Write high-level and detailed functional requirements and perform business and gap analysis.
- Execute the full SDLC , including requirements gathering and functional / technical specifications for complex projects.
- Develop functional design documents , user stories, and task breakdowns for agile projects.
- Create prototypes, mockups, flowcharts, and screen layouts for stakeholder review and approval.
- Support and participate in large-scale Agile development initiatives , including test-driven development.
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, UAT, post-implementation testing , and test reporting with metrics.
- Assist with Enterprise Architecture Solution Assessments (EASA) , hosting documentation, and firewall rules.
- Draft Local Change Board documentation and support RFC implementation.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, training materials, and user manuals .
- Monitor applications during peak production periods and assist users with issue resolution.
- Differentiate between defects and new requirements and maintain defect tracking logs.
- Provide application oversight and guidance to business analysts supporting related systems.
