Job Title : Coding Specialist (General Surgery)

Shift Schedule : Remote X, M-F. Client has set shifts / schedules for contractor to choose from. All morning starts. Worker MUST be able to work the full hour scheduled shift during the scheduled shift time.

JOB SUMMARY :

Under direct supervision ensures charges are coded appropriately from the medical record as necessary and are entered into the billing system accurately. May code medical records for surgical practices utilizing ICD- / ICD CM diagnosis and CPT- coding conventions Assigns specified codes to medical diagnoses with some coding of specific clinical procedures.

JOB REQUIRMENTS :

• HS Diploma / GED
• Certification as a CPC or CCS-P required.
• Proficient in assigning and abstracting ICD CM and CPT codes from provider documentation.
• years' experience with coding general surgery professional services required.
• years' experience with coding general surgery / surgical procedures in a Hospital setting for professional services required.
• Certified General Surgery Coder (CGSC) preferred.
• Three () years' experience in production coding in a surgical setting or in a physician practice environment required.
• Outpatient professional fee revenue cycle management experience preferred.
• CANDIDATES MUST UNDERSTAND THERE IS AN EXPECTATION OF HOW MANY CHARTS SHOULD BE CODED PER HOUR
• MUST PASS QA WITHIN ONE MONTH OF STARTING
