Reporting to the Marketing Manager, CatFace is seeking an experienced and creative Social Media Video Editor to incorporate creative storytelling, sharp video editing skills, and social media savvy to expand and elevate CatFace across our YouTube ecosystem and other social media platforms. This role is responsible for editing, optimizing, and publishing video content to drive engagement across multiple social media platforms. Partnering with our Production, Editing, and Creative teams this role will craft engaging, high‑performing content with consideration to CatFace’s established brand identity. This role also requires a passion for gaming culture, deep understanding of online entertainment, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, digital environment with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

Create and manage video content on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, and Twitter, ensuring consistency with CatFace’s visual tone and brand voice.

Enhance viewer retention with storytelling, using compelling text overlays, visual effects, and music.

Repurpose our long‑form YouTube videos into short‑form content across multiple social media platforms to maximize audience reach and engagement.

Collaborate with the Creative team to experiment with new editing techniques, storytelling formats, and motion design elements.

Source and work with Contract Blockbuster Animators for new shorts in the Minecraft platform.

Work with our Social Media and Marketing teams to plan and schedule posts, monitor social media performance metrics, and refine publishing strategies based on analytics.

Stay up to date with editing styles, audience preferences, and emerging social media trends and apply those insights to increase engagement and retention.

Ensure content is platform‑specific to individual social media algorithms, including thumbnails, metadata, and titles.

Coordinate with the Editing team to organize and maintain our video archive system.

Collaborate with other teams to develop and update best practices for editing, rendering, and publishing workflows.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deliverables meet deadlines and brand standards.

Qualifications

2‑3 years experience editing “Let’s Play” or gaming‑related content.

A passion for gaming, YouTube, and digital storytelling.

Strong understanding of multiple social media platforms, including algorithm behaviors and audience engagement tactics.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition).

Understand audio syncing, frame rates, codecs, and export settings.

A creative, innovative mindset with a sharp eye for detail, pacing, and humor.

Ability to problem‑solve with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Highly organized and able to quickly shift priorities in a fast‑paced and ever‑evolving creative environment.

Proactive and curious, taking the initiative to discover new ways to improve content quality, efficiency, reach, retention, and engagement.

Ability to work onsite in our Austin, TX office.

Familiarity with gaming platforms Minecraft and Roblox is a plus.

Ability to craft short‑form content and eye‑catching thumbnails is a plus.
