Description

Our client in Bristol, CT, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resource & Payroll Clerk on a contract basis. If you possess experience in payroll processing, HR support, and managing HRIS / payroll systems, this opportunity may be a great fit for you!

Key Responsibilities :

Human Resources Support :

  • Provide full administrative support to the HR department, including assistance with daily tasks, data collection, and reporting.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries and HR-related matters.
  • Pre-screen applicants and resumes; coordinate with managers for scheduling interviews.
  • Assist with onboarding processes :
  • Collect new hire documentation and set up employees in systems.
  • Conduct employee orientations and benefits overviews.
  • Provide guidance throughout the onboarding process.
  • Maintain accurate employee files and records.
  • Support weekly timesheet processing.
  • Participate in audits, census reporting, and compliance-related activities.

Payroll & Benefits Administration :

  • Handle payroll processing using multiple payroll systems.
  • Verify and process timecards for accurate payroll submissions.
  • Issue manual checks for terminations and discrepancies.
  • Manage employee benefit enrollments, modifications, and terminations (health, dental, life, disability, 401(k), etc.).
  • Process FMLA requests and hours tracking.
  • Address payroll inquiries and discrepancies while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Requirements

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Two to four years of experience in HR and payroll administration.
  • Strong proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll regulations, benefit administration, and employment laws.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
