About the Job
The Associate Program Manager, as part of the Portfolio and Program Management Team, will work as part of a new product development team, and is responsible for the planning and execution of a variety of projects that may include new product development, companion diagnostics, and business critical initiatives. The role manages multiple projects with competing timelines and may interface with external biopharma partnerships. For each project, the role generates and executes project plans to deliver the defined solution business cases, as well as identifies and resolves resource requirements and issues pertaining to the designated projects. The position develops and manages project deliverables, and the programs and products worked by the incumbent may span from product concept initiation to global commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure strong and consistent program management : Create holistic and adaptive program plans integrating key milestones and activities across project team, including cost, scope, schedule, risk, and resources enabling transparency, accountability and coordination across diverse areas of functional expertise Build team ownership and commitment to program plans. Adopt and utilize tools and best practices for efficient, rapid, and predictable program planning Manage the risk, issue and change resolution process and work with other leaders to take corrective action as necessary. Use innovative work methodologies, tools and practices that reduce friction and increase collaboration and productivity Mentor others on key program / project management processes. Ensure quality systems are leveraged including appropriate design controls are in use in project or product creation for continued compliance.
Facilitate communication and decision-making : Help team frame key decisions and enable effective trade offs, guided by Project lead(s) Provide synthesized information / insights (written and oral) to adjacent teams which may also include external biopharma partners, to facilitate effective and informed decision making as needed Lead the team in appropriate decision-making through strong judgment and the ability to analyze options and implications. Define and track key project metrics, contribute to project reviews as needed Facilitate elevation of critical business decisions to the appropriate stakeholders and / or functional managers. Cultivates community sensing, connection, engagement and support Be responsible for team and cross-functional communications (written and oral).

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Boston, MA is $156,240 - $195,300 per year. The salary range is commensurate with Foundation Medicine's compensation practice and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for Foundation Medicine's benefits.
