We are seeking a skilled Highway Construction Manager to lead transportation infrastructure projects across Virginia. This role oversees day-to-day field operations, ensures compliance with VDOT standards, manages contractors and subcontractors, and drives successful delivery of roadway, bridge, and highway improvement projects. The ideal candidate has strong experience in heavy civil construction, transportation projects, and public-sector contract execution.

Salary : $130,000-155,000 / year

Responsibilities :

• Manage day-to-day construction activities for highway, bridge, and roadway infrastructure projects.
• Ensure all work complies with VDOT specifications, standards, and permitting requirements.
• Oversee contractors, subcontractors, field crews, and inspectors to maintain quality workmanship and schedule adherence.
• Review engineering plans, drawings, and project documentation to ensure constructability and accuracy.
• Monitor project budgets, track costs, and support change order development.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, utility companies, local municipalities, and VDOT representatives.
• Manage traffic control planning, detours, MOT (Maintenance of Traffic), and ensure the safety of the traveling public.
• Prepare and deliver project reports, daily logs, and progress updates.
