Our client, a leading community-based, physician-led medical practice in the Hudson Valley, is hiring a Physician Assistant - Internal Medicine, Primary Care.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a fully outpatient, collaborative environment where patient-centered care is prioritized. The selected candidate will work closely with experienced physicians and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive primary care services across the community.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide high-quality outpatient internal medicine care.
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations and psychosocial evaluations based on patient age and history.
  • Manage and coordinate care for patients with complex health issues, including ordering and reviewing labs and diagnostic tests.
  • Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and monitor therapeutic outcomes to ensure optimal patient health.
  • Perform hospital rounds for new consults and follow-up patients, assisting with discharges when necessary.
  • Make referrals to specialists and community resources as appropriate.
  • Document patient encounters thoroughly in the EMR and maintain accurate coding for billing purposes.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program and active NYS licensure.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant clinical experience preferred but open to new graduates with solid training.
  • Demonstrated strong health assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with flexibility and professionalism.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to regulatory standards.
