Diesel Technician (3yrs exp required)

As a Diesel Technician / Road Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, ensuring optimal performance and safety of vehicles. Reporting to the Service Manager, your role requires strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand tools and power tools. You will utilize your skills in automotive diagnostics and vehicle maintenance, while also engaging with customers to provide exceptional service. Your experience with heavy equipment and electrical systems will be essential in addressing a variety of repair needs, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our fleet.

• Requirements
• Active DOT medical card required
• A valid drivers license with good standing MVR
• Break inspection certification or 3 years experience
• Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines and related systems, utilizing hand tools and power tools effectively.
• Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and communicate findings to clients.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed and assist in fabrication tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used, while delivering excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
• In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
• Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
• Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
• Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
• Ability and willingness to cover road service shifts rotating weekends and days
• Opportunity for overtime if desired

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours : 30 60 per week
