DESCRIPTION :
Are you ready to develop your technical skills in the exciting field of wireless communications? As a Wireless Network Technician, you will gain proficiency in customer relations, basic electricity, electronics, and telephony principles for LTE and 5G. You will also learn about digital transmission, fiber communication, data communication, and industry standards.
Your role will include :
- Serving as a technical reference for various functions.
- Following detailed methods of procedures (MOP) to perform routine maintenance on radio interface equipment.
- Conducting Service Assurance work on all radio interface network elements.
- Interpreting alarm conditions on the network to proactively identify and implement repairs to minimize service disruptions.
- Installing new cell site equipment and complete new cell site installations.
- Utilizing wireless tools and test equipment effectively.
- Managing inventory tools and procedures efficiently.
- Troubleshooting AC and DC power systems including tower light controllers.
- Maintaining high standards in both behavior and administrative tasks.
- Applying basic microwave principles in your operations.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS :
We are looking for candidates with vocational skills and procedural knowledge that can be gained through a combination of education and relevant experience totaling up to 2 years post-high school or equivalent. Important qualifications include :
Ability to multi-task and remain composed in stressful situations.Flexibility and resourcefulness in challenging conditions.Willingness to travel 100% of the time and adapt to travel outside your market for weeks at a time (e.g., disaster recovery, new product roll-outs).Ability to work outside regular business hours, including shifts, maintenance windows, and weekends as needed. 24 / 7 on-call duty may also be required.Capability to identify all colors associated with telecommunications cables and equipment indicator lights.Basic computer skills.A valid driver's license with the ability to drive long distances on and off-road; a CDL classification may be required for some vehicles.Ability to transport equipment, requiring a vehicle with adequate carrying capacity.Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and climb ladders or steep staircases.Willingness to work in challenging environments, including rooftops and vaults.Dexterity for connecting and disconnecting various electronic connectors.Good oral and written communication skills.Additional Information :
A personal vehicle is required for this position. Experience with field operations specific trouble ticket and network database systems will be advantageous. Previous experience working with wireless networking systems is preferred. Travel is also part of the role.
