Assistant Controller – Healthcare Call Center

Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the financial operations of our healthcare call center. This role will work closely with the Controller and leadership team to oversee accounting functions, ensure compliance, manage reporting, and support financial decision-making in a high-volume, performance-driven environment.
The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, experience in healthcare or call center operations, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities :
Financial Reporting & Close
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
Accounting Operations
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger activities
Monitor cash flow, expenses, and revenue trends
Ensure proper revenue recognition, particularly related to healthcare billing and services
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
Track departmental expenses and labor costs (critical in call center environments)
Provide financial insights to leadership to support operational decisions
Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
Support audits and coordinate with external auditors
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA awareness)
Operational & Leadership Support
Partner with operations and call center leadership on financial performance metrics
Analyze KPIs such as cost per call, productivity, staffing costs, and profitability
Assist in developing and improving accounting processes and efficiencies
Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as needed
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare, call center, or service-based environments
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with payroll, budgeting, and labor-cost analysis
Proficiency in accounting software and Excel (advanced preferred)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications :
Healthcare or medical services industry experience
Call center or high-volume operations exposure
Experience supporting audits and internal controls
CPA or CPA-track (a plus, not required)
Schedule & Compensation :
Full-time | Monday – Friday
Competitive salary based on experience
Benefits package available
Salary range : Starting at $75,000 annually, and up based on experience
