Assistant to the Director of Programming

The Assistant to the Director of Programming, reporting to the Director of Programming, serves to support the Department of Performing Arts with administrative and customer relations work in three critical areas : Theatre Education Licensure Record Keeping, Performing Arts Admissions, and Performing Arts Course Planning. This is a 30-hour / week, 12-month position.
Essential Job Duties :
- Track and document student enrollment in and completion of courses and placements required for licensure.
- Support documentation to track progress towards Annual Goals and Formal Review Goals.
- Assist Faculty in the development and use of data collection tools.
- Support Faculty in yearly reporting, Formal Review documentation, and Formal review self-study.
- Forge pro-active positive relationships with college wide colleagues, applicants, and schools in frequently utilized systems.
- Assist in the scheduling, coordination, staffing and payroll submission of Artistic Reviews (auditions, interviews, etc.) for High School applicants to the Department of Performing Arts.
- In coordination with the Director of Programming, oversee 10-15 virtual and in person Artistic Review events on weekends and evenings throughout the academic year.
- Provide administrative support in the recruitment of High School applicants to the Department of Performing Arts.
- Assist the Director of Programming and Faculty with course planning.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in the arts, preferably in theatre, or equivalent 2-3 years of professional arts experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
An understanding of the Theatre.Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to working with diverse populations.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with various partners.Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to solve problems.Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and successfully prioritize tasks.Strong knowledge of standard office computing software (Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications).Physical Abilities :
Requires ability to lift and move objects that are light (objects that are moderate for auditions).Requires ability to move materials occasionally.Work Environment :
Usual Office Conditions and (for auditions) Studio Classroom conditions.This is an in-person position with opportunities for some remote work.Compensation : $22.25 - $26.65 hourly, commensurate with experience. Grade of Position : S-23-05NE Scheduled Weekly Hours : 30.00 Division : Division of Academic Affairs This position will be exclusively represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 888 for purposes of wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
