Job Description

The Discipline Engineer is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and reviewing engineering work to ensure it meets established technical standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations. This role supports the effective execution of engineering and design activities by facilitating collaboration across internal teams and external engineering partners. The position requires strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly across multiple disciplines.

In addition to technical expertise, the ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to support timely and accurate engineering execution.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and coordinate discipline-specific engineering work products
• Review and evaluate engineering work performed by internal teams and external engineering partners to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Review discipline design drawings, calculations, and technical documents
• Coordinate and communicate technical, safety, and regulatory issues that impact engineering design and execution
• Identify, assess, and document deviations from technical specifications or regulatory requirements and ensure proper processing per established procedures
• Maintain accurate records related to deviation tracking and resolution
• Respond to technical queries and information requests related to discipline engineering activities
• Communicate engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns to engineering leadership
• Participate in engineering reviews and technical meetings at external engineering locations as required
• Promote efficient and cost-effective engineering design practices
• Support broader engineering initiatives and continuous improvement efforts as requested

Job Details

Pay : $77.85 / per hour

Location : Houston and Midland based to start, Houston based will include travel
