Full-Time Construction Inspector
Location : Antioch, California (San Francisco and San?Jose also considered).
Your Impact
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Monitor construction for compliance with project documents
- Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures
- Inspect road and bridge construction (based on Caltrans Standards)
- Review, inspect, and approve traffic control systems, including lane closures, in accordance with Caltrans standards and requirements
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision?making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Required Qualifications
High School DiplomaMinimum of 5 years of relevant post?education experience in the discipline with prior construction inspection experienceValid state drivers licenseHighly familiar with construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, process, methods and techniquesGrouting Inspector : American Segmental Bridge Institute (ASBI) Grouting Technician CertificationHighly familiar with relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record?keeping requirementsSound interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non?technical audienceSound self?leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi?tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environmentAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policiesAbility to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectivesAnalytical mindset to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisionsBasic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, spreadsheets, and toolsAbility to provide input and feedback to others in the field such as subcontractors and work colleagues to consistently complete tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately according to specificationsProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPs health, safety and drug / alcohol and harassment policiesAbility to work schedules conducive to project?specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweekOccasional travel may be required depending on project?specific requirementsPreferred Qualifications
Associates Degree in closely related disciplineTwo (2) years of education equivalent to completion of a curriculum beyond the 12th grade in either (1) engineering which includes courses in trigonometry and algebra or higher, drafting, computer science, and physics, chemistry, or a comparable physical science; or (2) surveying which includes courses in trigonometry and algebra or higher, drafting, surveying, and computer scienceEssential professional licensure / certificationBenefits

Compensation
Expected Salary : $65 / hr $85 / hr, depending on experience level, location and other qualifications. Employees hourly rate may increase if / when they perform services that are covered by Californias Prevailing Wage laws on public sector projects, or are covered by other applicable wage and hour laws.
