About us: The Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island is opening a new restaurant that is set to redefine dining on the island. Our coastal open-air restaurant will showcase regional seafood and ingredients, providing a unique dining experience for our guests. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that will make a mark on the island’s restaurant scene.

Job Description:

• The first 3 weeks will focus on training, obtaining ServeSafe Food Handler and TIPs certifications, and getting oriented into our company culture/operating guidelines.
• Upon restaurant opening, responsibilities include but are not limited to Assist in prepping high skilled, high quality foods for guests based on established standards Keep work area clean and organized Ensure food production is consistent with the established menu and recipes Control quality, consistency, taste and food cost Be up to date on all guest services, promotions and events in the HotelCommunicate all relevant information to management regarding: Ordering, Food preparation, Staff, equipment, safety and sanitation, guest feedback.is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of food items for the line, portions and prepares cold or hot items You are the key member making a mark on our guest experience by making them feel welcomed, comfortable and attended to

Requirements

Requirements:

• Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time without sitting or leaning.
• Prior experience as a cook in a restaurant setting is required
• Hotel experience a plus
• High school diploma required/GED
• Long hours sometimes required
• Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms
• Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
• Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range
• Ability to walk long distances
• Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
