Investment Analyst
Identifying and assessing investment opportunities in both direct investments and funds. Analyzing, developing, and implementing new investment strategies, operational processes, and investment guidelines. Ensuring proper execution of the investment closing process, including structuring, legal due diligence, documentation, and negotiation. Analyzing and overseeing the macro environment, market trends, and regulatory changes. Assessing the potential impact on portfolio risk and recommending actions to mitigate negative effects. Providing financial and economic expertise to strengthen the portfolios risk management oversight and investment processes. Supporting and driving portfolio construction and the investment strategies development within GICs broader portfolio. Developing and maintaining relationships with key external partners to review overall portfolio risk and identify market opportunities. Conducting research and development (R&D) to explore innovative investment approaches and enhance existing strategies. Overseeing asset management activities to ensure optimal performance and value creation of the assets in the portfolio.
Requirements :
Bachelors degree in finance, economics, or a related field, and five years of professional experience in financial services, including two years of experience in investment banking.
Experience advising on M&A and capital market transactions or private equity buyside investing.
Proficiency in financial modelling using Excel, FactSet, Capital IQ, and Bloomberg.
Proficiency in valuations including discounted cash flow analysis, comparable companies, precedent transaction, sum-of-the-parts, and LBO analysis.
30% domestic and international travel.
