Job Description : Position Summary :

To closely work with the Director of Worship Arts in leading and developing the band and musicians of Wilson Community Church.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Directing and rehearsing the worship team during mid-week rehearsal, pre-service run through and services.
  • Work with the Pastor and Director of Worship Arts in planning services.
  • Assist in recruiting and developing musicians, both vocal and instrumental. Offer suggestions and observations which would improve WCC’s music ministry.
  • Prepare instrumentation and vocal arrangements as needed.
  • Upload music files to the Planning Center platform for the music team to access before rehearsals.
  • Provide musical direction and guidance.
  • Nurture a spirit of worship by offering great professionalism, skill, investment in the team, and most importantly by worshiping regularly yourself.
  • Potentially lead worship periodically in absence of Director of Worship Arts.
  • Continuously develop your own musical skills and engage in ongoing spiritual growth.
  • Possibly provide musical accompaniment for weddings and funerals. Financial compensation for these types of services is above and beyond the agreed upon salary.

The Ideal Candidate Would Have :

  • Experience in leading a band, musical performance, or worship ministry.
  • Preferable to have piano as their primary instrument, but skills in other instruments are certainly appreciated.
  • The ability to sing and willingness to lead worship.
  • A commitment to healthy communication.
  • An ability to actively engage the congregation during worship through music.
  • An ability to give and receive constructive criticism in a healthy and Christ-like manner.
  • An excitement for creative musical expression.
  • A personal, committed, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

    • Employment Details :

  • Hours : This is a part-time position (8- hrs / week), with Thursday and Sunday requirements. An office space is available if desired.
  • Pay Range : $.-$. / hour based on skill level and experience
  • Schedule : Participate in worship regularly with 6 Sunday’s given off per year. Time off must be communicated with Director of Worship Arts in advance. There is an expectation to prioritize, and be involved in, special services like Christmas Eve and Holy Week.
