Job Description : SUMMARY
Teaches a full range of skills andknowledge for the certificate program in medical coding. Prepares students topass the CPC examination.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Presents facilitative, well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus (AAPC curriculum, medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, advanced medical coding, HCPCS coding, ICD-10 coding) and school policies
- Continually promotes students' development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving, and decision-making

- Ability to instruct through remote and in-person delivery (Blackboard, virtual classroom, and / or online using a Learning Management System)
- Provides the student with timely information and feedback on his / her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance
- Possesses a thorough knowledge and understanding of all College policies, and actively participate in their implementation and enforcement
- Follows all retention policies of the College to ensure students are in attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE / TRAINING
Must be a Certified Professional Coder Instructor (CPC-I) with the AAPCMinimum of three years of experience as a Medical Coding Specialist in the fieldMinimum of three years of teaching or related field experienceDemonstrated experience managing key metricsKNOWLEDGE,SKILLS and ABILITIES
