Travel Nurse Job Details

Location : San Marcos, TX 78666 (Texas healthcare jobs)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract (December 8, 2025 – March 8, 2026)

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM)

Schedule : Full-time, 36 hours / week; every other weekend required

On-Call : No regular call; only on call with low census, limited to once every 2 weeks

Unit : Cardiac Stepdown (IMC Med / Surg) – clinical support environment

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1360–$1460

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state

BLS certification (American Heart Association required)

ACLS certification (American Heart Association required)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, Telemetry, or IMC nursing jobs

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Stepdown unit, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation)

Administer medications and treatments according to clinical protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness

Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided

Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of cardiac patients and their families

Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care plans and health management strategies

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Delegate tasks appropriately and support the clinical nursing team

Complete all required competency verifications and participate in ongoing professional development
