Senior Design Engineer - $120-$130K - Direct Hire

Position Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead the upfront manufacturing engineering of high precision customer designs and brazed assemblies for aerospace and defense applications. This individual will be responsible for concept development, detailed design, DFM / DFA optimization, and support throughout the product lifecycle, with an emphasis on engineered brazed joints and precision-machined components.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead mechanical design efforts for machined parts and brazed assemblies using Solid works.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to develop robust, lightweight, and thermally / mechanically efficient designs compliant with aerospace and defense standards.
• Define and develop joint designs for high-temperature brazing, ensuring joint geometry, clearances, and material compatibility meet design and manufacturing requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and materials engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Generate and maintain complete engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, specifications, and test plans.
• Review customer design packages for completeness and overall DFM. Recommend improvements to lower cost and increase product quality.
• Design, document, and assemble manufacturing work-holding and inspection fixtures
• Lead or contribute to design reviews, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Interface with customers and suppliers on technical issues, design intent, and product requirements.
• Ensure all designs adhere to applicable industry regulations and standards.
