Description

Babbitting Service Inc, (BSI) is looking to fill Manufacturing Maintenance Technician position (Apprentice / level 1), at its South Elgin headquarters. To be considered, candidate should have manufacture / job shop, automotive or related experience or worked in a machine shop environment. Additionally, candidates who apply should have worked in a manufacturing, machine shop, factory or industrial plant environment.

Applicants must have experience with repair, maintenance, upkeep of machinery and skills working with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and plumbing work or have the proven ability to learn such work. The individual selected will routinely work on various types of machinery, equipment and processes throughout the shop. All candidates must have the required tools for the position and able to perform work inside and / or outside the facility as needed.

Normal work schedule - Monday - Friday, 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pm.

Requirements

• Ability to change oils, coolants in all machinery
• Perform a variety of work throughout the facility including repair of machinery, tools, shop floor equipment, and various building maintenance
• Perform and coordinate preventive maintenance for various equipment as needed
• Establish and maintain maintenance records
• Perform preventative maintenance on some equipment with supervision
• Perform basic to intermediate repairs on BSI equipment as scheduled by Maintenance Manager
• Basic fabrication knowledge, skills and awareness
• Use knowledge from Hazmat training to keep shop environment clean and safe
• Serve as the "go-to" for any other support tasks as needed to keep the operation running efficiently.
