Fuel Handling Mechanical Engineer

A company is looking for a Fuel Handling Mechanical Design Engineer for a long-term remote contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead the design of nuclear fuel handling equipment and components from initial requirements to final design completion

Provide engineering support for fuel handling systems, ensuring effective solutions are developed

Generate and maintain critical design documentation and support licensing activities related to Safety Analysis Reports

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution

5-15 years of direct experience in mechanical systems design, especially in nuclear fuel handling environments

Proficiency in ASME BPVC, Section III, Division 1 and / or Section VIII, and remote tooling design

Proven ability to coordinate and lead design efforts with minimal direction

Familiarity with quality standards applicable to design activities, such as ASME NQA-1
