Overview

Software Engineer, Editor at Descript. We are building the next-generation AI-powered platform and web application for easy and fast creation of audio and video content. The Editor team builds the core editing experience and AI functionality to empower users to record, transcribe, edit, and mix media on the web.

Responsibilities

• Build a best-in-class video editing and streaming platform to power the core editing and AI functionality of the app.
• Own features from design through deployment with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
• Collaborate with product, design, research, and AI engineering teams to understand customer needs and deliver effective solutions.
• Develop traditional editing functionality (e.g. timeline editing, effects, animations) and integrate in-house and third‑party AI features to enhance user capabilities.
• Support the data model and systems that manage the state of projects across clients and build media management features for team collaboration.
