Get to Know Your Team:
- UT Health East Texas EMS/AIR 1 has more than 50 ambulances, three active helicopters and one helicopter in reserve strategically located across the region and emergency teams provide rapid access to care.
Responsibilities
- EMTs are accountable for responding to all assigned calls in the most appropriate, efficient manner and providing the highest standards of patient care while keeping a safe and hazard-free environment.
- The EMT works with a Paramedic on an MICU ambulance and contributes to overall patient care in the areas of patient assessment, triage, packaging and transport according to protocol.
- There are occasions in which the EMT may work with another EMT on a BLS unit within the system.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Preferred Job Requirements:
- High School diploma.
- 1+ years of experience.
- National Registry.
- International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification or Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification.
- Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Professionals (PEPP) certification or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
