Maintenance Technician

Location: Boring, OR

Pay: $28 - $32 / HR

Responsibilities

• Always work safely—this is a core requirement of the role.

• Follow all company policies, GMPs, and SOPs.

• Collaborate with team members, apply mechanical concepts, and be open to training and feedback.

• Diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical issues on processing equipment.

• Inspect equipment, identify potential failures, and take proactive steps to prevent downtime.

• Monitor machinery to reduce unplanned outages, resolve problems promptly, and look for process improvements.

• Support line startups and assist operators with equipment adjustments.

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs as needed.

• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.

• Weld and fabricate parts or machinery when required.

• Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to plan and execute routine and preventive maintenance schedules.

• Help onboard and train new team members, ensuring they’re fully capable before working independently.

• Act as a point of contact for non-standard work, emergency repairs, and vendor coordination.

• Set the tone for safety, work ethic, and compliance with GMPs.

• Provide hands-on support when team members encounter challenges.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework is a plus.

• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, including chains, sprockets, gears, bushings, bearings, gearboxes, and other moving components.

• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues effectively.

• Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to collaborate with peers, supervisors, and managers.

• Competence in basic math.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

• Organized and detail-oriented approach to tasks.

• Flexible schedule and willingness to work varied hours as needed.

Work Environment/Shift

• GMP Environment.

• Night Shift: 8pm-5:30am, Monday - Friday.
