The Role

The Building Engineer at Desert Diamond Arena will assist in all engineering calls on a day to day basis and during events, sports, entertainment and concert productions. Participates in the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program and plan of action to resolve problems if they arise. Will monitor and personally perform work orders as needed to ensure timely completion and quality. Partner with the Event Services department on show related requests; continuously monitors building needs and is responsible for the day-to-day repair and maintenance of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain all wood fixtures, walls, floors, ceiling, doors, locks, hardware, keys, trim.
• Repair or replace all wood fixtures, walls, floors, ceiling, doors, locks, hardware, keys, roof leaks, and trim using hand tools / power tools.
• Conduct safety inspections of the building and certain safety related equipment.
• Perform other maintenance duties if assigned by supervisor, when required to maintain the integrity and safety of the facility (e.g., unstop plumbing fixtures and lines or replace lamps).
• Perform scheduled maintenance and operation check of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, seating, lighting, and other building systems
• Learn to operate the building management and energy management systems, and ice plant controls system. Train within the engineering department to maintain a basic to mid-level competency of all job functions and skills of the department
• Other duties as assigned

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legend Global's policies and applicable laws.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays, as needed

Education and/or Experience

• A minimum education level High School Diploma or its equivalency
• A minimum of 2-4 years of related work experience, with 3 years working with wood preferred
• Ability to lift/push/pull or otherwise move 25lbs or more
• Availability to be on call, set by supervisor
• Strong Customer Service

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills required
• Excellent good customer service and public relations skills
