Position Overview

As Pastry Cook at Pinyon, you’ll lead the pastry program in a high-volume, scratch kitchen. From breads and doughs to elegant plated desserts, you will combine technical skill with creativity to craft offerings that complement and elevate our coastal Mediterranean menu. This role requires strong organization, leadership, and the ability to execute consistently at scale while inspiring the pastry team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute a Mediterranean-inspired pastry and dessert menu that aligns with Pinyon’s culinary vision.
• Lead production of breads, doughs, desserts, and pastries for high-volume service.
• Maintain consistency and precision in recipes, presentation, and portion standards.
• Train, mentor, and manage pastry team members to uphold excellence across shifts.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership on seasonal menu changes and specials.
• Ensure proper inventory, ordering, and cost management for the pastry department.
• Uphold food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards across pastry and prep areas.
• Adapt quickly to the pace and demands of an extremely high-volume kitchen.
