At Modular Medical, we’re dedicated to improving the lives of people with diabetes through modern, patient-centered technology. As we move toward launching our first insulin pump product, we are expanding our mobile engineering team to build intuitive, reliable, and secure iOS applications that connect seamlessly with our devices.
We are seeking a motivated and skilled iOS Developer with 3+ years of experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality user experiences and excited to contribute to meaningful healthcare innovation.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain iOS applications that interface with our insulin pump devices to support effective diabetes management.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and UX / UI designers to build intuitive and dependable mobile experiences.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices in Swift and iOS development.
- Support troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization across a range of iOS devices.
- Contribute to ensuring compliance with medical device standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO), and secure data handling practices.
- Participate in code reviews to improve code quality and maintain consistency across the codebase.
- Stay current with emerging iOS frameworks, Swift language advancements, and mobile health technology trends.
- Help implement features such as real-time data insights, device alerts, workflow guidance, and accessibility-friendly interfaces.
Qualifications
3+ years of professional experience developing and shipping iOS applications.Strong proficiency in Swift and familiarity with core iOS frameworks (UIKit, SwiftUI, Foundation, CoreBluetooth, etc.).Hands-on experience building UIs with SwiftUI or a strong desire to transition into it.Understanding of common mobile architecture patterns such as MVC or MVVM.Experience interacting with RESTful APIs and handling networked data.Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and standard development workflows.Solid grasp of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, design patterns, and accessibility principles.Understanding of secure mobile development practices; interest in healthcare data protection (e.g., HIPAA, encryption basics).Experience writing unit tests using XCTest or Swift Testing.Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, design, and product teams.Motivation to work on products that directly impact patient health and wellbeing.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or device connectivity.Practical exposure to SwiftData , CoreData, or other persistence layers.Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines (Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines).Experience working in regulated industries or on safety-critical software.Background in Agile or Scrum development practices.Android development experience (Kotlin or Java) — even limited experience is a plus.
