Role : Lead Software Engineer

Location : Palo Alto, CA (On-site, 5 days / week)

Compensation : $150k-$230k + highly competitive equity

About the Role

A rapidly growing AI company is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with deep expertise in Search and NLP to join its founding team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of core infrastructure, powering secure, enterprise-grade software for Fortune 500 companies' legal and risk departments.

What You Will Do

Architect & Implement : Design complex Search infrastructure, including data pipelines, indexing systems, and query processing.
Own Systems : Ensure stability, scalability, and performance across mission-critical platforms.
Collaborate : Partner with product managers, AI researchers, and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.
Optimize Performance : Identify and resolve bottlenecks, ensuring low latency and high throughput.
Innovate : Research and adopt cutting-edge algorithms, technologies, and design patterns.
Mentor : Guide and coach junior engineers on best practices, code quality, and technical problem-solving.

What You Will Bring

Proven experience building scalable Search, NLP, or distributed systems.

Strong skills in Java, C++, Python, or Go , with hands-on experience in cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS).

Ability to lead technical strategy, while remaining hands-on in architecture and development.

Passion for solving complex, unsolved challenges in AI infrastructure.

Track record of collaboration and mentoring within fast-paced teams.

Compensation & Perks

Base salary range : $150k-$230k
