Job Opportunity: Part-Time Physician Assistant as Surgical First Assist

We are seeking a part-time Physician Assistant as a Surgical First Assist for an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Shoulder and Elbow surgery and reconstruction. This role offers a part-time weekly schedule of Wednesdays and most Fridays depending on surgical volume.

Key Responsibilities:

• Positioning of patients for surgery
• Surgical draping and sterile technique
• Primary surgical assistance
• Independent wound closure
• Application of post-operative dressings, splints, and slings
• Post-operative documentation and orders

Work Environment:

• Location: All surgeries will take place at surgical facilities on the Presbyterian Dallas campus.
• Operative hours will vary based on the scheduled cases for the day but can be flexible. The surgeon is committed to providing a work-life balance for the right candidate. Hours may be negotiable or adjusted to accommodate out of work personal commitments.
• There will be opportunity for additional clinical and/or operative days in the future as clinical volume grows.

Compensation:

• We offer a compensation structure that guarantees a monthly minimum OR pays an hourly rate, whichever is greater per month. Pay will be higher during the surgical busy season.
