Cardiac Services : Interventional Cath Lab

Duration - 3+ Months contract

Unit Information

Department : Cath Lab (Travelers assigned to Cath Lab only)

Total Labs : 15 labs shared across Cath, EP, and Hybrid; ~11 dedicated Cath Labs

Experience Required : 3+ years

First-Time Travelers Accepted : No

Patient Population : Adults only; high acuity, fast-paced

Case Volume : 24–40 cases per day

Staffing & Ratios

Patient Ratio : 1 : 1

Permanent staff will monitor cases

Housekeeping : Turns over rooms

Storeroom Staff : Manages supplies; night shift stocks rooms

Transport : Available 0630–2000

Receptionist / HUC : 0600–2000

Charge Nurse / Lead Tech : Available, minimal case involvement

RT : 24 / 7 (manages vents)

Hospitalist : 24 / 7

Cardiology : In-house 24 / 7

CRT : Responds to codes

Charting : EPIC

Med Pumps : Alaris

Med Dispense : Pyxis

C-Arms : GE

Hemodynamics : GE Pruka (Maclab)

PACS : Fuji & ProSolv

Other Equipment : Volcano, St. Jude, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, Anari (experience not required)

IABP : Maquet

Scheduling & Call Requirements

Shifts : 8 hr, 12 hr, or combo (department staffed 24 / 7)

Weekend Rotation : Usually call only

Weekday Call :

Call shift runs 1200–2030, then on-call until 0600

Call Frequency :

7-day call block (Friday–Friday) every 2–3 months

May not be called all 7 days

Response Time : 30 minutes

Time Off & Holidays

Approved PTO : Up to 7 days

Holiday Expectation : Possible if needed

Fatigue Policy : Max 60 hours / week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
