We’re looking for a Director of Design Engineering to lead our front‑end engineering team and scale our design system (designsystem.citizensbank.com) into a world‑class platform that powers efficiency and consistency across the enterprise.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, grow, and mentor a team of front‑end engineers focused on Front End development expertise.
• Drive the success of the Citizens Design System by managing intake of requests, working with internal partners, and helping prioritize system features.
• Drive the development and adoption of scalable, reusable components that power Citizens’ design system.
• Partner with design and product teams to validate, test, and optimize patterns for usability and performance.
• Advocate standards and design system adoption across the enterprise in roadshows, education, presentations, and building relationships across the organization.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years in front‑end development experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Proven experience building and scaling design systems in enterprise environments.
• Deep technical expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, TypeScript (or similar frameworks).
• Understanding of Mobile Development practices in iOS and Android, using Kotlin and Swift.
• A collaborative leader who can inspire teams and influence across design, product, and engineering.
• Knowledge and understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) is a plus.
